ISLAMABAD, Sep 8 (Alliance News): Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu arrived in Pakistan on Monday for a two-day official visit from September 8–9, the Foreign Office (FO) confirmed.

FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said the visit is a “precursor to the forthcoming visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, scheduled in November.”

Nurtleu is leading a 13-member high-level delegation, which includes Kazakhstan’s Minister of Transport. On the sidelines of the visit, joint working group meetings on agriculture and IT will also take place.

During his stay, the Kazakh deputy prime minister will hold a one-on-one meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, followed by delegation-level talks.

He is also scheduled to call on President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to the FO, discussions will review preparations for the upcoming presidential visit and deliberate on the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on trade, investment, agriculture, education, cultural and tourism exchanges, regional connectivity, logistics, and collaboration at multilateral forums.

“The visit of the Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister will further cement longstanding Pakistan-Kazakhstan ties and contribute to deepening engagements in diverse fields, for the benefit of the people of both countries,” the FO statement added.
