Rain, Gusty Winds, and Dust Expected Across Sindh and Balochistan from February 16-17: PMD

ISLAMABAD, Feb 14 (Alliance News): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a shallow westerly weather system bringing rain, thunderstorms, and dust-raising winds to parts of Sindh, including Karachi, and across Balochistan, southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and southern Punjab from February 16 to 17.

Light to moderate rain with gusty winds is expected in major Balochistan cities including Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Zhob, Gwadar, and Turbat.

Sindh’s Dadu, Hyderabad, Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Khairpur are likely to experience rainfall and dust storms on February 17, while southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts such as Waziristan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and Kurram may see light rain and thunderstorms. Southern Punjab, including Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, and Bahawalpur, could also receive isolated rain or drizzle.

The PMD has warned of possible hailstorms in northern Balochistan, Dera Ismail Khan, and Dera Ghazi Khan, which could damage crops and weak structures.

Farmers are advised to protect standing crops, and the public is urged to exercise caution during heavy showers and dust storms while following official weather updates.
