Four Terrorists Killed in Intelligence-Based Operations in KP

RAWALPINDI, June 5 (Alliance News): Security forces killed four terrorists belonging to what the military described as India-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij during two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the operations were carried out in Dera Ismail Khan and Mohmand districts during the night between June 3 and 4, 2026.

The statement said security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district following reports about the presence of militants. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the suspected hideout and, after an intense exchange of fire, killed two terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij.

In a separate operation in Mohmand district, security forces engaged another group of militants and successfully neutralised two more terrorists during a firefight.

The military said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, who were allegedly involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area.

The ISPR reaffirmed that security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue their counter-terrorism operations under the national campaign “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, to eliminate terrorism and ensure lasting peace and stability in the country.

Pakistan has experienced a rise in militant violence, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since 2021. Security forces have intensified intelligence-based operations and border security measures in response to the growing threat posed by terrorist groups operating in the region.

The military reiterated its commitment to continuing operations against militants and preventing any attempt to undermine Pakistan’s security.
