Pakistan Navy rescues all 20 crew members from sinking cargo dhow near Ormara

ISLAMABAD, Jul 9 (Alliance News): The Pakistan Navy, in coordination with the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), on Thursday successfully rescued all 20 Pakistani crew members from a sinking cargo dhow operating east of Ormara.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the cargo dhow developed severe flooding, prompting an emergency distress call to the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre.

Following the alert, Pakistan Navy ship PNS HUNAIN and the required aerial assets were immediately diverted to the area to carry out the rescue operation.

The ISPR said all 20 crew members were safely rescued due to the professionalism and timely response of the rescue teams.

It added that all rescued personnel were being provided the necessary medical care.

The military’s media wing said the successful operation reflects the Pakistan Navy and PMSA’s strong commitment to protecting lives at sea and maintaining round-the-clock readiness to respond to maritime emergencies.
