ISLAMABAD, Aug 06 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday departed for Saudi Arabia on an official visit at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to discuss bilateral relations, strategic cooperation and regional developments.
The prime minister is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on further strengthening the longstanding fraternal ties and strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, while also exchanging views on the evolving regional situation.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the visit reflects the decades-long brotherly relations, mutual trust and close cooperation between the two countries and is expected to further expand strategic collaboration on bilateral, regional and international issues.
During his stay in the Kingdom, the prime minister will also perform Umrah and visit Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah to pay his respects at the Roza-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him).
The visit comes amid evolving regional developments and is aimed at enhancing political, economic and strategic coordination between Islamabad and Riyadh.
