WASHINGTON, Jul 14 (Alliance News): Director of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Kash Patel met Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the FBI Headquarters in Washington, appreciating Pakistan’s continued support in safeguarding US interests in the region and reaffirming commitment to expanding bilateral law enforcement cooperation.

According to a statement shared by Patel on social media, the meeting focused on enhancing collaboration in counterterrorism, cybercrime investigations and combating terrorism financing through specialised training and resource sharing.

“It was an honour to host Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at FBI Headquarters. We deeply appreciate Pakistan’s support in protecting US interests in the region,” Patel said.

He added that both sides discussed facilitating specialised training and strengthening cooperation to counter terrorism financing and conduct cyber investigations both domestically and internationally.

“Our partnership is critical, and we look forward to more success ahead,” Patel said.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation between Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies and the FBI in addressing emerging security challenges, including cybercrime, financial crimes and transnational terrorism.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is currently visiting the United States after representing Pakistan at the United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UNCOPS) 2026, where global law enforcement leaders discussed ways to strengthen international policing cooperation and address evolving security threats.

The meeting comes as Pakistan and the United States continue efforts to deepen cooperation in counterterrorism, intelligence sharing, cyber security and financial crime investigations.

Pakistan has remained an important security partner of the United States, with bilateral engagement expanding in recent months on issues related to regional stability and law enforcement cooperation.

The two countries have also maintained consultations on broader regional security developments, while Pakistan has played a diplomatic role in promoting dialogue and de-escalation in the Middle East.

Officials expressed confidence that enhanced cooperation between Pakistan’s Interior Ministry and the FBI would further strengthen efforts to combat terrorism, cyber threats and organised crime through information sharing, capacity building and specialised training programmes.
