ISLAMABAD, Sep 10 (Alliance News): President Asif Ali Zardari has returned to Pakistan after completing a private visit to Britain, the Presidency said on Thursday.
In a post on X, the President’s Secretariat said Zardari had returned to Pakistan after completing his private visit abroad.
President Zardari left for Britain on August 27, marking his first visit to the country in around six years. He remained in London for more than a week before returning to Pakistan.
Before departing for the airport, Zardari told Geo News that he was in good health.
“By the grace of Allah, I am well,” the president said when asked about his health.
Asked about his stay in London, he replied that he had a good time in the British capital.
Zardari did not comment on Pakistan’s current political situation or the ongoing debate over proposals to create new provinces and administrative units.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Tipu Usman saw the president off before his departure for the airport. Zardari was accompanied on his return journey by his personal physician, Dr Asim Hussain.
Sources said the president underwent several medical check-ups during his stay in Britain.
According to the sources, Zardari did not take part in political activities or hold formal political meetings during the private visit.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari also visited their father during his stay in London.
The president met his son Bilawal and daughter Bakhtawar regularly during his time in the British capital.
