Naveed Qamar urges for strengthening bilateral trade with UAE

ISLAMABAD, Mar 9 (Alliance News):Federal Minister for Commerce, Syed Naveed Qamar here on Thursday stressed the need for enhancing bilateral trade volume between Pakistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE).

During a meeting with UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, the minister highlighted that there was huge potential for cooperation between the two countries in the field of renewable energy, agricultural, textile meat of bovine animals, petroleum oils and hospitality sectors.

He also observed that trade volume between two countries stood at just US$ 10,033.05 million in FY-2022. The trade included US$1369.83 million exports to UAE and US$ 8663.22 million imports into the country.

He said, the existing trade volume did not match the actual potential of both the countries and needed to be increased.

UAE ambassador agreed with the minister’s point of view and said Pakistan and UAE have religious, durable, historical and cooperative relations which needed to be enhanced with bilateral trade.
