Pakistan to host next round of US-Iran talks from July 11

ISLAMABAD, July 5 (Alliance News): The next round of negotiations between Iran and the United States is expected to begin in Pakistan on July 11, according to a report by Al Arabiya.

The report said the talks will commence following the completion of mourning and funeral-related ceremonies for Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Senior officials from both sides are expected to discuss a range of key bilateral and regional issues.

Among the major topics on the agenda are the lifting of sanctions imposed on Iran, the release of Iran’s frozen assets, and developments related to Tehran’s nuclear programme.

According to Al Arabiya, the latest indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States were recently held in Doha, Qatar. US President Donald Trump described those discussions as constructive.

The report added that following the Doha talks, Iran claimed that both sides had reached an understanding on restoring several billion dollars of its frozen assets.

However, the United States rejected the Iranian claim, denying that any such agreement had been reached.
