Pakistani refugees were barred from entering the European Union

ISLAMABAD, Oct 6 (Alliance News): Serbian police stopped 200 migrants from entering the northern country of Hungary and seized weapons and money recovered from them.

According to foreign media report, the Ministry of Interior of Serbia says that the number of migrants and refugees traveling to the European Union from Serbia and other Balkan states is increasing in recent months. People have also been found involved in human trafficking networks.

Officials said that apart from Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan, people from other countries in Central Asia and the Middle East are also involved.

Police said a large amount of cash and weapons were seized during a raid on a camp near the Tisza River in northern Serbia.

“Police took several migrants to refugee centers and others were taken to the prosecutor’s office for further processing,” Interior Minister Alexander Willin said.

Officials said the Serbian police took the action after the leaders of Hungary, Serbia and Austria took tough measures against migrants entering the EU illegally and put pressure on border control forces.

Serbian police have assured a crackdown on the trafficking gang, saying in a statement that “there is no place for migrants, especially crooks and bandits, in our country.”

Serbia’s EU membership candidate has assured that visa policies will be amended so that migrants cannot use them to enter the country easily.

The border agency Frontex says that 86,581 people have entered the border of the Balkans and the EU illegally this year, a 190 percent increase this year compared to last year.
