ISLAMABAD, July 17 (Alliance News): Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Irfan Neziroglu, underscored the historic and fraternal relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye during a certificate distribution ceremony for the Turkish Summer Camp for Children, jointly organized by Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) and the Yunus Emre Institute.
Ambassador Neziroglu stated that Pakistan-Türkiye ties continue to grow politically, diplomatically, and economically.
He emphasized that such initiatives play a key role in strengthening bilateral ties by nurturing cultural and educational bonds between younger generations.
Speaking on the occasion, AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood highlighted the role of language and skill-based education in fostering global cooperation.
He encouraged reducing children’s screen time and engaging them in constructive learning activities, noting that AIOU has recently introduced language programs in Japanese, Russian, and Turkish.
Dr. Zahid Majeed, Director of AIOU’s Directorate of International Collaboration and Exchange, informed that 35 children were trained in Turkish language, calligraphy, archery, and the traditional game Mangala during the two-week camp.
He added that similar camps have been organized in Karachi and are planned for Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Dr. Halil Toker, Country Director of the Yunus Emre Institute, affirmed Türkiye’s deep-rooted affection for Pakistan and reiterated their commitment to transferring this cultural bond to future generations through such collaborative programs.
The event concluded with children performing Turkish songs and humorous pieces from Molla Nasreddin. Certificates were distributed among participants in the presence of their families and AIOU faculty.
