ISLAMABAD, July 18 (Alliance News): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday directed all departments under the Ministry of Interior to urgently improve interdepartmental coordination to ensure better performance and public service delivery.
Chairing a high-level meeting in Islamabad, Naqvi expressed concern over what he termed a “serious lack of coordination” among the ministry’s subordinate institutions. He instructed each department to submit proposals within three days, including suggestions for amendments to rules and recommendations for structural reforms.
A comprehensive plan based on these proposals is to be finalized and presented by the Federal Secretary of the Interior, he added.
The minister stressed the importance of teamwork and collaboration. “We must draw on each other’s strengths to enhance institutional efficiency,” he said, noting that such synergy is essential to meet the expectations of the public.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, senior officials of the ministry, and heads of key departments including the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Islamabad Police, Passport and Immigration Department, and Cyber Crime Investigation Wing.
Naqvi concluded that improved coordination would translate into faster, more transparent, and citizen-friendly services across the country.
