ISLAMABAD, Jan 30 (Alliance News): The US Mission in Pakistan highlighted a week-long series of educational, cultural and community-focused engagements across the country as part of activities marking 250 years of American independence.

In a video message shared on the US Embassy in Islamabad’s official X account, mission spokesperson Cain Harrelson said the embassy launched a speaker series titled “Freedom 250: The Entrepreneur’s Roadmap,” featuring Burton Snowboards co-founder and chair Donna Carpenter in conversation with US exchange alumna and adventure athlete Samar Khan.

He said a new Education Working Group had also been established with Pakistani government counterparts to enhance cooperation in vocational and higher education, reflecting a shared commitment to youth development and skills-building.

US officials also met alumni of the 2025 International Visitor Leadership Programme, discussing professional connections developed with American experts in fields such as energy and law enforcement.

In Karachi, US Consul General Charles Goodman attended the graduation ceremony of 200 students from the English Access programme, which aims to improve English-language proficiency and promote economic participation among young people.

In Peshawar, Consul General Thomas Eckert and the consulate’s youth council held discussions on how American innovation in areas including e-commerce, entrepreneurship and e-gaming contributes to shared prosperity.

Meanwhile in Punjab, Consul General Stetson Sanders visited a US-supported Unicef relief site for flood-affected communities, inaugurated the restoration of the historic Ghanta Ghar, and honoured 450 graduates of the English Access programme.

The spokesperson said US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker also travelled across Sindh, engaging with local leaders, agricultural and business communities, and cultural stakeholders to further strengthen bilateral ties between Pakistan and the United States.
