ISLAMABAD, Jul 4 (Alliance News): Pakistan’s globally renowned football manufacturing industry took centre stage during the live screening of the FIFA World Cup 2026 match between Uzbekistan and Portugal in Tashkent, highlighting the country’s export excellence and industrial capabilities before thousands of football fans.
Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan praised the proactive efforts of Pakistan’s Trade Mission in Tashkent for successfully promoting the country’s manufacturing strength at a major international sporting event, according to an official statement issued on Friday.
He said the initiative demonstrated the effective use of public diplomacy to showcase Pakistan’s industrial excellence, export potential and positive image on a global platform.
He added that Pakistan takes pride in the world-class craftsmanship of Sialkot, which continues to manufacture premium-quality footballs used in leading international tournaments.
The minister said such promotional activities strengthen Pakistan’s position as a reliable, competitive and quality-driven manufacturing hub while helping expand exports, build investor confidence and deepen trade and economic ties with partner countries, including Uzbekistan.
In collaboration with Uzbek authorities, Pakistan’s Trade Mission organised the promotional campaign at Bunyodkor Stadium and Humo Arena, where thousands of football enthusiasts gathered to watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 match.
During the event, the Mission highlighted “Trionda,” the official match ball of the FIFA World Cup 2026, manufactured in Sialkot by Forward Sports, one of Pakistan’s leading football manufacturers.
To enhance engagement with local audiences, the Trade Mission translated Forward Sports’ promotional documentary into the Uzbek language. The documentary, screened before the match at both venues, showcased Pakistan’s internationally recognised expertise in producing high-quality footballs used in major global competitions.
Representatives of the Embassy also presented a Pakistan-made “Trionda” football to Tashkent Governor Shavkat Umurzakov as a symbol of the growing friendship and expanding partnership between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
The Trade Mission announced plans to organise more promotional events in the coming weeks to further showcase Pakistan’s world-class manufacturing capabilities and increase awareness of the country’s export potential among Uzbekistan’s business community and consumers.
