ISLAMABAD, Aug 12 (Alliance News): Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide will pay an official visit to Pakistan on August 13-14, marking the first visit by a Norwegian foreign minister to the country in a decade, the Foreign Office announced on Wednesday.
The visit comes at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in key sectors.
During the visit, Eide and Dar will hold delegation-level talks covering the full spectrum of Pakistan-Norway relations. The discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, climate change, renewable energy, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
According to the Foreign Office, the visit reflects sustained high-level engagement between the two countries.
It follows telephone conversations between Dar and Eide in March and April 2026, as well as the visit of Norway’s State Secretary Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik to Islamabad in May 2026.
The Foreign Office said the visit would provide an opportunity to further strengthen the longstanding and friendly relations between Pakistan and Norway while exploring new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation.
