Kharan, Aug 16 (Alliance News): Security forces have killed seven terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Kharan district of Balochistan.
According to security sources, the operation was conducted under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 following intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists in the area.
Seven terrorists were killed during the operation, while modern weapons, a large quantity of ammunition, military equipment, two vehicles and a motorcycle were recovered from their hideouts.
Security forces also completely destroyed the terrorists’ hideouts. According to security sources, the terrorists were involved in planning looting activities and suicide attacks in Kharan and Lajay.
Security sources said operations under Radd-ul-Fitna 3 are continuing across Balochistan to eliminate terrorism. The terrorists will continue to be pursued until the last terrorist is eliminated, the sources said.
A day earlier, 10 terrorists were killed and several others injured during a security forces operation in the mountainous Shor Parod area of Khuzdar.
Following the operation, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation at possible locations where terrorists could be present.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for their successful intelligence-based operation against terrorists in the Shor Parod mountainous area of Khuzdar.
