BISHKEK, Sep 02 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed Pakistan’s resolve to increase bilateral trade with Kyrgyzstan to $200 million within the next two years, calling for stronger economic engagement between the two countries.
Addressing a joint press conference with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Japarov at the presidential palace in Bishkek, the prime minister said Pakistan wanted to further strengthen economic and trade ties with Kyrgyzstan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked the Kyrgyz leadership for the warm welcome extended to the Pakistani delegation during his visit.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived at the Kyrgyz presidential palace to meet President Japarov, where he was accorded a guard of honour.
The two leaders also witnessed the signing of various agreements aimed at promoting bilateral cooperation in different areas.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said the agreements marked the beginning of a new phase of cooperation between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan and expressed hope that bilateral relations would continue to expand in the coming years.
