President Zardari embarks on landmark four-day visit to Kyrgyzstan

ISLAMABAD, July 6 (Alliance News): President Asif Ali Zardari is set to depart on Monday for a four-day official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, marking the first visit by a Pakistani president to the Central Asian nation in 21 years.

According to the Foreign Office, President Zardari is undertaking the visit from July 6 to 9 at the invitation of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation to further strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation across multiple sectors.

The visit follows President Zhaparov’s trip to Pakistan in December 2025 and reflects the growing momentum in high-level exchanges between the two countries.

During the visit, President Zardari will hold one-on-one and delegation-level talks with President Zhaparov. The two leaders are expected to review the full spectrum of Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation in trade and investment, energy, mining, agriculture, textiles, the halal industry, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, the digital economy, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

President Zardari is also scheduled to meet the Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament during a courtesy call as part of his official engagements.

The Foreign Office said Pakistan and the Kyrgyz Republic enjoy warm and fraternal relations rooted in shared history, cultural and religious ties, and a common vision for regional peace, connectivity, and economic prosperity across Central and South Asia.

The visit is expected to further deepen bilateral cooperation and open new avenues for collaboration between the two friendly countries.
