QUETTA, Jul 25 (Alliance News): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to extending every possible support to ensure sustainable peace in Balochistan, stressing that a coordinated operational strategy, modern technology and enhanced intelligence capabilities were essential to defeating terrorism.
The remarks came during a high-level meeting co-chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti in Quetta to review the province’s overall law and order situation and assess ongoing counterterrorism operations.
The meeting reaffirmed the federal and provincial governments’ shared resolve to strengthen security measures and establish lasting peace across Balochistan amid continued operations against terrorist groups.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti briefed the meeting on the province’s security environment, ongoing counterterrorism efforts and the government’s future strategy to maintain peace and stability. He also outlined measures being taken to improve security coordination and strengthen law enforcement institutions.
During the meeting, participants agreed to further enhance the professional capacity of the Balochistan Counter Terrorism Force (CTF) and the provincial police.
It was also decided to expedite the implementation of previously approved initiatives aimed at improving policing standards and strengthening the province’s security infrastructure.
The Interior Ministry assured the provincial government of its full cooperation in providing the necessary resources to reinforce security institutions and improve operational capabilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the immediate implementation of Balochistan’s peace restoration master plan was essential for ensuring long-term stability.
He said the government should also benefit from the experience and expertise of former Balochistan police chiefs while adopting modern policing methods and advanced technologies.
Naqvi said effective intelligence sharing, coordinated operations and close cooperation between federal and provincial institutions remained indispensable in tackling evolving security challenges. He added that both governments were moving forward with complete unity and coordination to establish durable peace throughout the province.
The interior minister expressed confidence that collective efforts would further strengthen the state’s capacity to eliminate terrorism and restore public confidence.
Chief Minister Bugti reiterated the provincial government’s determination to remain ahead of terrorist elements on every front, declaring that no pressure would weaken the state’s resolve against terrorism.
“The writ of the state will be enforced at all costs, and there is no place for terrorists in Balochistan,” he said.
The chief minister highlighted that creating opportunities for young people through quality education, skills development, employment and constructive engagement remained among the government’s highest priorities.
He said promoting merit-based opportunities was vital to restoring young people’s confidence and ensuring equal chances for progress.
Bugti emphasized that peace, development and prosperity were closely linked, adding that the provincial government would continue advancing security initiatives alongside economic and social development projects.
He expressed confidence that, with continued support from the federal government, the implementation of peace initiatives and development projects across Balochistan would be further accelerated, contributing to long-term stability and prosperity in the province.
